The Starlight Mattress is a medium-feel sleep surface engineered specifically for side sleepers and those who carry tension in the shoulders, neck and upper back. Built around six proprietary sleep technologies and backed by a registered DeRUCCI utility patent for its shoulder pressure relief design, the Starlight addresses one of the most common and least discussed sources of disrupted sleep: the pressure placed on the shoulder joint when sleeping on one’s side. Its construction has been informed by research drawn from over one million Chinese family sleep studies, resulting in a mattress that reflects a genuinely data-driven approach to ergonomic comfort and spinal alignment. The Starlight’s most distinctive feature is its shoulder zone, where a layer of space memory foam has been specifically added to buffer and slowly absorb the pressure placed on the shoulder during side sleeping.

This slow-rebound material conforms precisely to the contour of the joint, distributing weight across a broader surface area rather than concentrating it at a single pressure point, reducing the likelihood of numbness, discomfort and night-time waking. The five-zone spring system beneath extends this logic across the full body, with varying gauge springs mapped to the lower legs, thighs, lumbar and hips, shoulder and back, and head, each responding with calibrated independence to deliver whole-body pressure relief without one zone interfering with another. An additional noise-reduction system combining silent foam, individually pocketed springs and latex minimises disturbance for both sleepers throughout the night. The hygiene system operates on two independent levels: the quilted comfort layer is filled with INVISTA antibacterial cotton achieving over 99% bacterial inhibition and over 99% dust mite repellency, while the surrounding three-proof sponge is treated with Swiss SANITIZED technology and independently verified by SGS to the same standard.

A 3D mesh spacer fabric woven in an X-90° hollow structure allows air to circulate at 3,303 mm per second, actively reducing heat and moisture build-up and discouraging mite activity at the structural level. The outer cover uses Nega-Stat three-leaf carbon core anti-static fibre that continuously absorbs and disperses static charge accumulated during sleep, addressing a clinically recognised contributor to elevated cortisol levels and disrupted sleep cycles. Curved corner edges reduce the risk of impact injury for children and older household members, while a reinforced perimeter edge system prevents sag and roll-off at the mattress border.
